I’ll go over what materials are needed and how to get started. This is a perfect DIY project that can be made in about 30 minutes.

Start by downloading the free thank you card SVG file and then follow the instructions to make a beautiful card.

Materials:
- Free SVG template(download below)
- Card stock or other heavyweight paper in 2 different colors
- I used normal white cardstock for the outside and shimmer paper for the inside
- Spray adhesive
- Cricut, Silhouette, or Glowforge

Instructions:
Follow these steps to construct your card and make it come alive!
If you are able to engrave the branch with a laser cutter, some papers make a very beautiful engraving.
The red shimmer paper created a gold finish that was gorgeous!
Cricut and Silhouette Users
Upload the file with “Heart-Shaped Thank You Card SVG-
Cut out the pieces and score the lines between the two halves of the hearts.
Glowforge Users
Upload the file called “Heart-Shaped Thank You Card SVG- Glowforge”
This one is set up with an engravable branch for the inside of the card.
Set the outside of the card to cut.
Set the branch to engrave.
Set the lines between the connected hearts to score.
Glowforge Cut Setting for Cardstock-
I have spent hours trying to get cardstock to cut without burn marks or soot. I finally found that these are the perfect setting for cutting paper.
Have a sticky mat to put the paper on. This is very important. If the paper blows around any, it will not cut well.
If it doesn’t cut perfectly the first time, try turning the power up to 9. But 8 is a great starting point.

Once you have the free SVG file uploaded and cut, it is time to put it together.
Step 1:
Get your spray glue and a spare piece of paper. Spray the front half of the card on the inside. Be sure to cover the other half with a piece of paper.
I like to use spray adhesive because it gives a very professional look for intricate cuts. If you use Elmer’s glue, the glue will normally seep out the edges. It is also hard to get all the little flourishes.
Using spray adhesive applies glue to the whole piece with very little effort. But be sure to only apply a thin layer. I applied too thick of a layer and it showed through the card.
Step 2:
Press the larger one of the individual hearts onto the glue. Line up the edges of the heart thank you card.
If you used a Glowforge, the larger one is the one without the branch on it.
Step 3:
Spray the smaller heart with the adhesive then center it on the inside of the card. Be sure not to spray to much like I did!
Step 4:
Let the card dry for a few minutes.
Now your card is complete!
Add a personal message and voila, you have created something thoughtful for someone special.
The person you give it to will appreciate the thoughtfulness and time you put into it.
